I was going to skip this topic, I even started writing the next one, but in the end I couldn’t do it. To me this is a topic for a food blog, maybe a wine blog talking about the perfect pairing, or perhaps a really awkward first date. I so wish I knew anything about wine right now, I kind of like the idea of that angle.
Let’s just do it and get it over with. As much as I don’t like the idea of wasting a post on it, the question of what one food I could eat every day for the rest of my life, the answer isn’t as simple as one would think.
My husband is an amazing cook and he makes the very best pastas in all the world, but pasta is too heavy to be eaten every day. I adore a perfectly cooked Hussar rump steak with cheese sauce and French fries; but it is a special occasion meal, I couldn’t do it every night. The same goes for Bihari’s butter chicken with rice and butter naan; my mouth is literally watering right now at the thought of it, but definitely not an every night meal.
It would be a very tight race between two.
My speciality roast beef meal with Brett making the cheese sauce and gravy from scratch – roast beef, roast potatoes, roast butternut, peas, brown rice, cauliflower baked in cheese sauce, all smothered in gravy. Or my mom’s crispy chicken breasts with fries and sweetcorn.
Hmmmmm… At gunpoint. The roast beef meal.
Every day for the rest of my life.
As for one drink, no question – chocolate Nesquick, unstirred, with the powder forming bubbles on the surface.
