Bugz Playpark is a paradise for kids

You guys know I don’t drive very far very often, but I travelled all the way out to Kraaifontein for Bugz Playpark. And it was worth every single second! Bugz invited myself and my family to spend the day as VIPs in their playpark last year. My mom, sister, niece, Charly and I decided to kick off the September holidays with a proper spoil and headed through early one morning. My sister had been once before and told me how wonderful it was, but she didn’t do it justice. It is genuinely paradise for kids.

The whole of Bugz Playpark is never-ending fun, with a very well thought-out goal of little Bugz learning through play. They have everything you can think of! From exceptional tree-top climbing structures, to paddle carts, water slides, horse rides, a choo-choo train, rowing boats, a zip slide, mud kitchens, swings, jumping castles, full size doll-houses, a petting zoo… the list goes on! There are lovely shady areas sprinkled throughout the park, and an endless array of delicious food and snack options for the whole family to enjoy.

Fun at bugZ Play Park

Our usually timid Chloe bean niece went for her first horseride and completely fell in love! Since then, the first thing she asks before we head out anywhere is if there are horses. Our little waterbaby Charly was happiest in the fountains. Getting her to leave was no joke, but she was relatively easily bribed with the promise of ice cream. The food was all incredibly tasty, generously portioned and affordable. I also love that the kids meals are creatively presented to tempt even the fussiest of eaters.

Being a bit fussy with play areas, I loved how clean and taken care of everything was. Somehow even the much-loved “mud kitchens”, which encourage messy play and universally seems to make every single child beam, didn’t worry me in terms of Charly being “dirty” or unsanitary. The staff was all polite and friendly and so great (and patient) with the girls. Those may seem like small things to some, but they are make or break items of a place for me.

We all left Bugz that afternoon, happy, wet, full and exhausted. Charly didn’t stop talking about it for months. We had a date all set up last holidays and then – German Measles. Both our girls were devastated and we have been trying to reschedule ever since. How is it even possible that it takes months to be able to set aside time and then have all parties in the plan healthy enough to attend?!

And then, last week I got a note from Bugz Playpark about their Winter speacial and I HAD to secure Charly and Chloe their VIP passes ASAP. Now I will be the favourite again 😀

From May to September 2017, Bugz has reduced their VIP entrance rate from R120 to R90! The girls loved the brightly coloured indoor play area as much as the outside area, but in the heat of summer, the water play kept them mostly outdoors. Inside is filled with obstacles, slides and educational boards. They spent ages playing in a variety of little child-sized doll houses and racing up and down the twisty slides. There were a few things that were a little big for them last year (the park caters for kids up to 10 years old), but I have no doubt they will be all over those climbing areas come July.

And July will serve to get them completely overexcited about August and our little beanie niece Chloe’s 5th birthday. My sister has booked the Crown Room for beanie’s party after attending one of their friend’s Cake Boss party last month. With 8 indoor party venues, 4 outdoor venues and 28 party themes to choose from, you are really spoiled for choice. Depending how it goes, I may book Charly’s 4th birthday there for February. I’ll be sure to share tons of pics of the party on the day!
