Behind The Red Door ~ Review {Giveaway Closed}

The incredible talents of others never cease to amaze me. I feel so very grateful that I get to share the gorgeous products and special services I come across through my work and my life. Kirsten is one of those talents and I am so happy to take you behind The Red Door to sneak a peek at the incredible things she creates.

Kirsten is wife to Dean and mommy to two adorable little boys, Luke (4) and James (23 months). They are the NICEST family, I’m not just saying that, I got to meet them and it is true!! Kirsten works full time helping her father manage the family business in bedroom furniture sales. A creative by nature, she has always had an affinity for wood and for years designed and created handmade wooden decor items as gifts for family and friends. In February of this year she decided to officially turn her passion into a business and so The Red Door was born.

You will have seen the beautiful Christmas Bunting and Wooden Block set in All I want for Christmas is to decorate! on Tuesday.

Christmas things

While I adore the Christmas range, I actually found Kirsten when looking for office decor and then I saw her stunning kids room decor and I was besotted. Just look at some of this stuff from The Red Door Facebook page

I may or may not have done a dance when Kirsten gifted us with the hugs and kisses blocks for Charly’s room. And she literally paints each piece herself by hand – every single dot and spot no spray booth or machine finishing. The butterfly heart was all me when I was pregnant with C 🙂

Hugs & Kisses blocks

After chatting to Kirsten for a little while about how we could work together, she decided to create a new range of wooden wall decor for children’s rooms with this giveaway in mind… So essentially, she dreamed up, designed and created these just for us! How amazing is that? Not only are they gorgeous to look at, but the sentiments strike a chord in me. So much so that for now, Charly’s set is hanging in my office above my desk. I need the reminder more than she does right now, and she already got the blocks!

Kirsten is currently loving making the three piece sets and her wooden buntings, but she is happy to make anything you can imagine from wood and takes special requests. And “to keep her hands busy” (as she puts it) she also makes jewellery – how lovely is this set of mine? Charly keeps stealing one and giving me the other so we are “same same”.

done, shared and liked!! i tell my 2 year old boy all the time to be these things, its my main emphasis as i’m teaching him to make the world a better place. this would be awesome in his room as a reminder of what he must strive for in life. not material things, but things that come from within.

Lovely giveaway for our kid’s 😉 I have shared this giveaway on Facebook and Twitter (@flutterbymegs). Fingers crossed!
