Merrrrrrry Christmas! Well, not quite, but I’m starting the Christmas spirit extra early this year to help you get ready for the season. I have been doing what I love best, searching the Interwebs for amazing people and brands that do what they do better than anybody else. And for the next two months, I will be introducing my favourite brands, products and services to you in my “All I want for Christmas is…” series, so you can get started on your Christmas lists. There is nothing that gets me in the mood for the season quite as strongly as gorgeous decorations; little touches that just make you smile. And so we begin with “All I want for Christmas is… To decorate!”
We are starting off with some unique items by Kirsten from The Red Door. Kirsten has created some amazing things for Christmas; and when I say created, I mean she literally designs, paints, and positions every piece by hand. And this is the result…
This beautiful wooden bunting is only R175, with each element hand painted! You can also extend it as long as you would like it, with the price increasing per flag. The solid wood word block set (R250) is so stunning; with the solid base allowing you to move the 5 top blocks into any design you choose.
I love family traditions, and things that make an appearance every year at the same time really bring me the warm and fuzzies and I am so incredibly happy to be adding these two exquisite items to my Christmas arsenal. They are something that you can keep and use for years to come and even hand down to your kiddies one day. Orders close on 30 November, so be sure to place yours early!
Kirsten helps manage a family business with her dad, but her passion lies in creating handmade decor items from wood. What began as a hobby, making things for friends and family, started to develop into a small business for her in February of this year. Where she finds the time between her full time job, her two adorable boys (4 year old Luke and 23 month old James), and her hubby, is anybody’s guess. You can see more of her items on Thursday when I launch her new range in a giveaway with The Red Door.
Something else that will definitely be a feature in our home over Christmas is this adorable, incredible quality personalised (yahooo) Christmas sack (R250) from one of my favourite places on the Internet, Rainbow Magic. Charly received it, and this adorable little reindeer tree decoration (R30 each), from Leigh as a gift after our giveaway. Charly LOVES them both and insists that the sack is in actual fact a blankie (it is that big :D).
Leigh is mommy to two girls, Kate (7) and Tayla (4). She started Rainbow Magic in March this year as a representation of the magical time she spends with her daughters and the creative products that they love; she also owns her own Digital Marketing business. Rainbow magic has set up Santa’s Workshop where you can find a huge variety of Christmas sacks and stockings that you can have personalised and even some lovely Christmas wall stickers. The last day to order your personalised sacks and stockings is 11 December and Christmas gifts 18 December (or as long as stocks last).
I came across these beautiful embroidered napkins on Facebook, advertised by the awesome Iza Raeburn. This Christmas Fairy range comes in 7 different designs, these three are my absolute favourite though and I can’t wait to set a Christmas Eve table for Brett, Charly and I this year with them.
Iza Mimo Designs sells embroidered cotton napkins with food quotes, which are very popular all year round; and when she found this gorgeous Christmas Fairy range (R50 each), she knew she would be making Christmas extra special this year. You need to allow at least a week lead time, so the earlier you order the better!
I am already a fan of Iza’s, as she also has a popular baby and Kiddies’ range “Bubs For Babes” selling Cape Town made items. The range started off with Starwraps, and now has 6 products, including signature baby creature comforters. They have one more creature comforter launching in November, just in time for Christmas, so keep an eye on their Facebook page.
I got some stunning tree decorations, baubles and the like from the pharmacy across the road from us last year, so my tree decorations are pretty complete (especially with our little reindeer now); but if you are looking, I see TAKEALOT.com have some really lovely looking ones this year .
I could keep going for ages, but these are my favourite Christmas decorations this year so far.
What do you think? Which are your very favourites?
Don’t miss next week’s list where I give you a peek into the most beautiful gifts you will find in “All I want for Christmas is something handmade with love”.
Sending all the love & Christmas cheer <3 xx
*Nobody paid to be included in these lists; I have experienced the service and / or products personally and I loved them or they wouldn’t be here
